The Big Reveal
“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow the words of this law.”- Deuteronomy 29:29
The Reveal is a Big Deal! From baby gender announcements to the guilty party exposed in murder mystery movies, we all like to get “the download” on what’s going on. Over the holidays our family celebrated at my sister’s house, which had just undergone a kitchen and living room remodel. Talk about first impressions! A home we had been to so many times felt like a brand-new place.
The start of the year is a perfect reminder of the new things God wants to reveal and roll out! In Isaiah 40:5 the Lord declares, “And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all the people will see it together.” A bigtime “reveal” to start 2023 happened as we announced the desire and plan to change our name to RESTORATION CHURCH. We believe that part of this season has to do with embracing the new God wants to do in us and through us. This is a new day in our world, there are new realities/pressures people are facing, and there are new opportunities to share Jesus so that many receive the timeless and priceless New Life gift!
In our desire to embrace all God has for each of us, we need our hearts and minds enlightened to His will and ways. Paul prayed this for all believers in Ephesians 1:18, “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He had called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in his holy people.” As we are currently in 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting, joining with millions of other believers in the Foursquare Family, let’s ask God to REVEAL His heart, His plan, and His wonder working power. As you pray ask God to reveal to you:
· The Promises coming your way this year.
· The Purpose you are to live out.
· The People you are to reach and bless.
As amazing as my sister’s home looks, the reality is that they had to live in a place that was messy, unfinished, and inconvenient for several months. The BIG REVEAL requires waiting and watching for it. Ask the Lord to reveal His wisdom and unveil His heart. Do not act like you have all the answers and do not be ashamed that you need God’s help in knowing what to decide, what to do, and what is next. James 1:5 tells us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
May this new season be a revealing one of the special God has in store for you!
